Helping Arabic Become Part of Everyday Life

Mubeenly brings structured, one-to-one Arabic learning to children and adults, with a particular focus on families raising children outside the Arab world. We combine personal teaching, clear learning goals and academic guidance to help learners build confidence in reading, writing, speaking and understanding Arabic.

Our Story

How Mubeenly started

Mubeenly began with an observation close to home.

Living in the United Kingdom as a Middle Easterner, founder Muhannad Alrifaai recognised a challenge faced by many families abroad: helping their children develop a lasting connection with Arabic.

A child may speak Arabic with family but struggle to read or write it. Another may understand familiar conversations but need support to express themselves. Parents want to help, yet finding suitable teaching that fits family life can be difficult.

Muhannad and Nadya Matawa brought together their experience in technology and education to create Mubeenly: an online academy built around personal teaching, a structured curriculum and attention to each learner’s progress.

Our story began with families abroad, but our welcome is wider. Adults, beginners and learners from every background are welcome—whether their motivation is family, culture, faith or a personal interest in Arabic.

Our Mission & Vision

What guides our work

Our Mission

To help children and adults develop confidence in Arabic through structured personal teaching, clear learning goals and academic support—wherever they live.

Our Vision

A future where living outside the Arab world does not prevent a child—or any learner—from reading, writing and speaking Arabic with confidence.

Our Approach to Learning

What learners can expect in every lesson

A Clear Learning Path

Students work towards defined learning objectives within a structured curriculum. Teachers adapt explanations and activities to the learner’s starting point and pace.

Personal Teaching

One-to-one lessons give teachers space to listen, encourage participation and respond to the individual learner. Our teachers use Arabic and English to support understanding.

Progress You Can Follow

Lesson reports help students and parents understand what was covered, what the learner achieved and what needs further practice.

Academic Direction

Our Academic Director guides the curriculum, teacher assessment and teaching standards, giving the academy a shared educational approach.

Meet the Founders

The people behind Mubeenly

Muhannad Alrifaai

Founder & Technical Director

Muhannad brings ten years of software engineering experience, including roles at BT and Dyson in the UK. He leads Mubeenly’s technology and platform development, working closely with the academic team to turn teaching needs into practical tools for online learning.

Living in the UK helped him recognise the challenges families abroad face in helping their children learn Arabic. That observation helped inspire Mubeenly and continues to shape his focus on making the learning experience straightforward for students, parents and teachers.

Nadya Matawa

Academic Director

Nadya brings more than 25 years of experience teaching Arabic in schools. She leads Mubeenly’s academic approach, guiding curriculum development, teacher assessment and teaching standards to support each learner’s understanding and progress.
